Dartmouth Class of 2010

Hey! Hmm, I think I'm the first RD to post here... I just got my decision today and I'm shocked and amazed. Anyways, my name is Leanne and I live in Hong Kong, halfway across the world which is hot and humid usually, with a very mild winter and a popluation of 7 million. Let's just say Dartmouth will end up being a complete 180 for me =)

There's so many things I want to try out in D, but probably I'll skate (I love iceskating but can just... skate, nothing fancy. Hope to learn more), swim, and learn to dive, and write for one of the publications =) I LOVE languages, and want to learn Japanese and Spanish, interested in Cultural Anthropology/Sociology/Psychology.. Hope I'll be more decided on that front later =P Also aspire to take a random Art course.

For fun, I <3 Anime, gaming (RPGs in particular), ROCK MUSIC (and concerts!), curling up with a good book, and dancing =)

Really interested in hearing from other Dartmouth 2010s, just MSN me (arieru_kalmia@hotmail.com) or comment... Seeya ~

yeah, i plan to do skating no matter what, but do you think D will bother training a rookie? =S or i could just join some of the um.. lower levels i suppose.

4:30AM? impressive. french is a great language, but i've done it for some years already so i'd like a change =)

thanks!

How rookie is rookie? When I visited over the summer, most of the girls could at least do all the basic spins and had all their single jumps up to an axel (which, I'd assume, is what you'd need to compete anyway).

I've seen some of the kids I teach in group classes progress very quickly, and if you wanted to compete, you could always try dance instead of freestyle. I don't really know the team's policies, but you could always take skating for PE and work from there.

rookie in my case = i can skate. no jumps, no twirls and i've only just learnt to skate backwards -_-" i'm not expecting to compete at all, but maybe join some sort of club or something that's just for fun/amateurs/beginners, and hopefully learn more and work up from there. taking it for PE sounds just about right.

thanks for the info ;-)
